Quote Collection

" For the worst thing, you'll agree, Mr Bronte, the very worst thing, would be for those girls to grow up thinking themselves in any way exceptional."

*****

From The Taste of Sorrow (US Charlotte and Emily) by Jude Morgan......a story of the Bronte sisters.

Do you collect quotes and passages from your reading?
What did you find this week?

  1. That's a lovely quote, from a book I've wanted to read. I always mean to write down quotes/passages that interest me but for whatever reason, I never do.

  2. I write them down but then lose or forget about them so I thought I'd start putting them on the blog.

  3. I have just started to write down quotes as I kept seeing so many good ones and then forgetting them, I have to write them down at the time though.

  4. I'm interested in finding out the context of this quote. It's not the kind of statement a parent would make to a child for sure. At least today. Maybe a jealous neighbor? Relative?
