It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Persons Journey

List the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books you plan to read this week.

Last week life was so much quieter here and the weather was lousy so I took full advantage of this time. It's been so hectic lately that it was wonderful to be able to be a bit lazy and enjoy some good relaxing reading. I even ignored the fact that the 'to be reviewed' pile is growing alarmingly - I did manage to review these two.

The Sand Fish by Maha Garhash
By Fire, By Water by Mitchell James Kaplan

Have you ever noticed how often and quite by chance you get a succession of books with a similar theme.? Last week the three books I read were all connected by seriously-
Dysfunctional Families

Still Missing by Chevy Stevens
Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger

And Audrey introduces what looks as though will be this week's theme -
Ghostly Doings!

Currently I'm reading:

The Bones of Avalon by Phil Rickman

A favourite author of mine but strangely a book I've never once seen mentioned on other blogs.

Anyone else read it?

Up next - I need to read The Lost Symbol because it's due back to the library soon. It's a book I never bothered about when it was first released but I am interested in symbology so would like to read it. Then Time's Legacy - Barbara Erskine is another favourite author and I doubt I'll be able to hold out much longer.

I hope everyone has a great reading week!

  1. I actually enjoyed The Lost Symbol -- it's a quick read, too, and it really moves fast. The symbology of these stories is always so fascinating -- sucks me right in! Can't wait to read your thoughts when you're done!

  10. I was disappointed with The Lost Symbol, although I loved the historical references and had a great time looking up whatever Brown mentioned. Learned a lot of things I did not know about DC. Hope you enjoy the book and the week.
