Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Marg at The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader and Claire at The Captive Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

With all the comings and goings of holiday time my library visits are being fitted in when I have a spare moment . Most of the time the purpose is to get books back by their due date but I can never resist a quick look which leads to bits of loot being taken home each time...........the pile is starting to grow again. Over the last week I've added......

My Last Duchess by Daisy Graham
Under This Unbroken Sky by Shandi Mitchell

Over Christmas I read The Tricking of Freya by Christina Sunley which I loved and has inspired an interest in reading more about Iceland so I have a gorgeous coffee table book full of glorious photographs and......
My Soul to Take by Yrsa Sigurdsdottir .........a crime thriller
Iceland Saga by Magnus Magnusson.......non-fiction.
Magnus Magnusson relates the world-famous Icelandic sagas to the spectacular living landscapes of today, taking the reader on a literary tour of the mountains, valleys, and fjords where the heroes and heroines of the sagas lived out their eventful lives

Then quite by chance I picked up two books set in Sweden and written by Swedish authors so I'm going to be having a real Scandinavian reading experience very soon.

Three Seconds by Roslund & Hellstrom..........a thriller
Daniel by Henning Mankell.......historical fiction

And finally some short stories...

A Dark Night's Work and other stories by Elizabeth Gaskell

What's in your bag this week?

  4. Oh I'm so jealous that you have a copy of My Last Duchess! My library still hasn't purchased a copy.

    Enjoy your loot!

  5. I went with something different this week, a book from an author I have met in person.

I haven't heard of A Dark Nights Work by Gaskell, sounds a bit heavier than her normal works?
