Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Marg at The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader and Claire at The Captive Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.
Here is the result of my last two library visits - still fairly restrained although not quite keeping up with the inflow!
Last week

The Raising by Laura Kasischke.........American college students, a car accident.......and a haunting. I've
started this one and so far, so good.
The Somnambulist by Essie Fox.........a Gothic tale of guilt and deception, regret and lost love.
The Lady's Slipper by Deborah Swift.......Historical fiction - 1600's and an obsession with a single wild orchid.

This week

The Nightmare Thief by Meg Gardiner........suspense thriller featuring forensic psychiatrist Jo Beckett.
Daughters of  Rome by Kate Quinn..........historical fiction - the sequel to Mistress of Rome which I really enjoyed.
The Guardian Angel's Journal by Carolyn Jess-Cooke........'When Margot Delacroux dies at forty, she is sent back to earth as a guardian angel - to herself." I've never heard of this book but it sounds intriguing and who could resist that lovely cover!

Bought from library sale shelf

In the Heart of the Garden by Helene Wiggin..........a thousand years of one garden......and the women who tended it.
