Svea at Confessions and Ramblings of a Muse in the Fog has created this new weekly event and invites anyone to join in and leave a link at her blog.
Sheer bliss to have a quiet Sunday - it's the first time this month we've had a weekend to ourselves and while it's always wonderful to have the family visiting that doesn't allow time for blogging.
So I've had a lovely morning doing some blog wandering and catching up on reading and commenting.
This is the final day of the Spotlight Series on NYRB - check out the links for some wonderful reviews on a variety of very intriguing books. I know I've added several to my TBR list although they aren't easy to come by in this part of the world.
Classics Circuit continues it's Golden Age of Detective Fiction tour and I'm really enjoying reading the reviews of these wonderful old favourites .
Murder, murder everywhere .....has felt a bit like Crime City here on the blog this week which was pure coincidence and it just happened that all the tour posts came at once . I'm looking forward to being able to review some of the other great books I've been reading this week. I've finally realised that trying to review every book I read is impossible but it's hard to know which to ignore when it's all so good ( well, most of it).
The lovely Sheila from Bookjourney has begun a new feature called Book Chat in which she plans to share some of the book blogs she enjoys. Today she's interviewing Bobbie from Til We Read Again and as her blog wasn't familiar to me I hopped on over to pay a visit and have a look around. I liked it very much and discovered Bobbie is also starting a new feature ........
"A weekly feature of all things book blogging and guess what? I want everyone involved. Have you found a new book? A great post on a fellow bloggers blog? Maybe you have found some great blogging tips around the blogs? If you have and you would like to share please let me know. "
Sounds good to me!
Fancy a Readalong? Allie from A Literary Oddysey is hosting two in June.......click on the links to signup.
Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift
Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell
I'd planned to read some of Elizabeth Gaskell's work after reading about her friendship with Charlotte Bronte so thought this was the perfect opportunity to do that and also to participate in my first readalong. Should be fun !
Wishing everyone a happy and relaxing Sunday and a wonderful week ahead!
I'm doing the Cranford read-along as well, plus its also my first one. I'll check your review out.
