Suddenly Sunday!

Svea at Confessions and Ramblings of a Muse in the Fog has created this new weekly event and invites anyone to join in and leave a link at her blog.

.......and a wet and cold day it is. A good day to curl up with a good book which is what I'll spend most of the day doing, I should think. Or spend some time thinking about the reading week ahead ........lots of things happening this month so a little organisation and thinking ahead helps prevent me going into last minute panic mode.
This month I'll be doing my first posts away from home - reviewing on Royal Reviews and a guest post at Historical Tapestry. It's a bit like starting school and leaving the security of home for the big wide world feeling both excited and nervous.

Spotted this morning - a new meme at There's a Book

1stdaughter says "We all leave our “footprint” on the world, in one way or another. We each, individually, do something or are someone that makes the world a little better just by being here. I created this weekly meme to get to know the blogging community I love just a bit better. To know what makes them tick, outside of books, that is. Each week I will post a question to be answered in the following week’s “A Bit of Me(Me)”. Check back each Saturday to get the info for next week’s post and link up with your current post right here."

This week's question: Spring is here and summer is upon us. Tell us a bit about your favourite season and why.

So as well as helping spread the word I thought I may as well join in. I like to read little bits about other bloggers lives but don't reveal much about my own mainly because in my other blogging world all I did was talk about 'me' and one of the reasons for changing to book blogging was being able to put the attention elsewhere.
Down in my part of the world Spring is defintely not here. Autumn is in its final days and winter is almost upon us. I can never quite decide whether I like Spring or Autumn best - I'll go with Autumn today. I live in a small town which is known as the Town of Trees.

.........the oh-so-English village of Cambridge situated in the heart of the Waikato, a short drive south of Hamilton, Cambridge is the quintessential country town of this pretty pastoral region. Famous for antique stores, dairy cows and champion Thoroughbred racehorses,  the green rolling pastures are lined with post and rail fences, and the hills are dotted with big old trees. In the Autumn the trees are an absolutely glorious sight . I love trees and cannot imagine living without being surrounded by them

It's Bloggiesta Time!

June 11th - 13th

Mid year is a great time to evaluate your blog and see how you’re doing.  An opportunity to cross those nagging items off of your to-do list and improve your blog while in the good company of other awesome bloggers doing the same thing. You can read more about this popular event and sign up at Maw Books Blog.

I haven't decided yet and will probably wait until later in the week - I don't want to commit and then find I have a houseful of family coming to stay for the weekend.

Wishing everyone a happy and relaxing weekend !

  2. So beautiful! I'm so glad you decided to join in! This is exactly why I wanted to start this meme, I would have never thought of it being a completely different season (though logically I know it, it just didn't connect at first), until I saw your post. What a wonderful thing to be in a "town of trees"! So beautiful! Thank you so much for participating, I hope you'll join in again!

PS...I'd definitely love to see you around bloggiesta as well, it's one of my absolute favorite events, but I completely understand the family thing. Because bloggiesta can be pretty involved.

  3. I wish I could do the Bloggiesta, but I'm out of town next week. :(

I still find it fascinating that as I sit here drenched in sweat most days with the temperatures soaring, there are other places where winter is on its way. Amazing! I love Autumn - because it's cooler and the colors are beautiful!

istdaughter - I look forward to participating - I think its a great idea.
I hope I can be a part of Bloggiesta - so far I've missed all the big events because of other commitments so keeping my fingers crossed for this time.

  5. I absolutely love autumn, too...it symbolizes new beginnings to me, even more than spring does. I guess the whole "starting school" thing...thanks for visiting my blog.
