Library Loot - I've been waiting for...

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Marg at The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader and Claire at The Captive Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

......these two !!!

Doing the Happy Dance!

The People's Queen by Vanora Bennett.........I hope it's as good as Blood Royal which I read at the beginning of the year and loved .
The Distant Hours by Kate Morton..............I must have had at least five reviews of this book in google reader yesterday , all of which I ignored knowing it was waiting to be picked up from the library , but the temptation was growing.
And I added another couple while I was there.

Catherine de Medici by Leonie Frieda........non-fiction. This lady gets some pretty mean press so I thought a NF might provide a more balanced view..........and makes up a bit for not being able to get my hands on the Gortner novel.
Trick of the Dark by Val McDermid.........her latest so I couldn't let it pass.

Now all I need is the time to read them!

Hope you have some great loot this week!

  1. Oh, these look fabulous!! I've been really into historical fiction lately, so The People's Queen looks fabulous to me -- I'm also interested in Catherine de Medici one, too!

  2. As interested as I am in the Bennett book on Alice, and the reviews I've seen are so positive, I don't know if I can put myself through another - the two I had were such duds.

Will be interested on your thoughts on the Medici book. Dumas' take on her is still my favorite :)

  4. Misfit - the only other one I've read of VB is Blood Royal and I enjoyed that. Glad to hear reviews of Alice are positive and I'll have to check up on Dumas.

    Nathalie/Marg - I can't wait either.
