Library Loot

Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Marg at The Adventures of an Intrepid Reader and Claire at The Captive Reader that encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.

Hard to believe that it's a month since I last did a Library Loot but I've been very self-disciplined and made myself read what I had before adding too many more. So last Friday I returned a HUGE pile including one or two that will have to be relooted sometime and hooray......I have  the beginnings of a new pile.

Breathless by Dean Koontz........ just because he's one of my favourites suspense writers.
The Wedding Shroud by Elisabeth Storrs......for the ABC challenge at Historical Tapestry.

Vlad, The Last Confession by C.C.Humphreys.........after the fantastic readalong of The Historian I'm interested in reading more about Vlad the Impaler and Dracula.
Room by Emma Donoghue.........it was there on the returns shelf, everyone else is reading it ....so I will too.
Theodora: Actress, Empress, Whore by Stella Duffy................ she rose from nothing to become the most powerful woman in the history of Byzantine Rome. Sounds interesting.

What lovely loot do you have this week?

  1. Wow, did you ever get lucky to find a copy of "Room" at the library! There are something like 100 people waiting for it at my library branch.

  4. Room is amazing as you've no doubt heard.
Although I do put books on hold at the library, I also love going in and finding that "of the moment" book waiting patiently on the shelf to be snapped up.

  5. Lisa/Suzanne - I was very surprised to see it sitting there. I'd planned to wait until next year before putting it on hold.

Kathleen - I hope I'll enjoy as much as others seem to.

Nathalie - I can't wait to read it either - I've never heard of it so hope its a good one.

  8. Ooh, Stella Duffy! I've got one or two books by her but I've never, ever heard of anyone else who read her. This book is new to me, too.

Hope you enjoy it. I hope to read your review in due time.

  10. I love Koontz too but I did not like Breathless! It kinda felt like NOTHING happened. I kept reading and reading waiting for something interesting to happen. I think it's one of my least favorite Koontz books. I hope you enjoy it more than I did!

I'm looking forward to reading Room it's getting so much press, I hope it lives up to the hype!

  11. Marg - thanks for the headsup. Great post.

Judith - Stella Duffy is new to me too.

Claire - obviously there are some advantages to living in small town in a small country. :-)

Mollie - glad to hear you say that. I'm halfway through reading it and quite disappointed.
