Theme Thursday - Vehicle
This is a new meme hosted by kavyen at Reading between Pages.. “Theme Thursdays” will be open from one Thursday to the next and anyone can post it. The rules are simple:
* A theme will be posted each week (on Thursdays)
* Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
* Post it and don’t forget to mention the author and the title of the book
* It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
* Since we may take a few days to finish a book, this event is open for one whole week
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors.
This week’s theme is – Vehicle
"Much chastened and silent with apprehension, Branwyn joined her mother in the travelling carriage, a vehicle that was only a little more graceful than the heavy cart used to transport grain and firewood to and from the villa."
p46 - Prophecy: Clash of Kings by M.K.Hume.

I really love this meme. The snips and sentences I've been reading seem to be so descriptive and "transport" me right into the book. Get it? Transport. ;-)

Sounds like an early coach (and maybe not quite as comfortable). Great one!

Wow, this is such a perfect one for this weeks' theme. Look at all the vehicles we get to see.... Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYay, another non-car snippet. Mine involved a coach.

A very early coach, Bev, and a pretty uncomfortable ride I would think.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my followers, BookBelle.
Thanks for dropping by everyone.

ReplyDeleteInteresting choice! Traveling must have been so much more uncomfortable in the distant past!
