It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

hosted by Sheila

A weekly meme where we list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books we plan to read this week.

Last week the weather stayed hot and humid which is ideal for finding a cool place if you can and curling up with a book. I read three books , each one quite different and I enjoyed them all

The Memory of Love by Aminatta Forna .......the first 50 pages of this one were a bit slow and I almost gave up but very glad I persevered as it was very good.
Mistress of the Elgin Marbles by Susan Nagel (NF)
Someone Else's Son by Sam Hayes....suspense thriller.

I have given up on The Good Man Jesus - not my thing . I'll have to find something else to start off the Read A Myth challenge.

Added reviews for:
The Coffins of Little Hope by Timothy Schaffert
Under This Unbroken Sky by Shandi Mitchell

Found a new meme

Currently I'm reading:

The Twisted Thread by Charlotte Bacon........this will take a while because its an ebook and I have to read it on the computer which isn't always appealing.

The Golden Mean by Annabel Lyon.........halfway through and I can't make up my mind whether I like it or not.
She-Wolves: The Women Who Ruled England Before Elizabeth by Helen Castor.........fantastic non-fiction. Loving it.

Up Next:
The Lotus Eaters by Tatjana Soli
Bury Your Dead by Louise Penny (yay! my favourite series)

Have a great reading week!

  11. I like it that you're critical of books and ready to give up on them if they are not to your liking. Indeed, why spend time on books you don't like?

    Happy reading!

  12. Marce - the first Louise Penny is called Still Life.

Mystica/Kathy - Someone Else's Son is a very good suspense thriller.

Jennifer - glad you enjoyed The Lotus Eaters - don't read Bury Your Dead if you haven't at least read the previous one in the series.

1stdaughter/Kristin -I'm really looking forward to it.

Sheila/Aleetha - hoping they're as good as those lovely covers suggest.

    Tea - disappointing!

Majanka - I hope it will be - my favourite series.

Judith - I agree - too many good books waiting.

  14. Wish it was hot and humd in Ohio! We actually did have two unusually warnm days which melted the ice but today we're back to freezing rain and snow...

She-Wolves sounds like a book I'd love. I've seen some good reviews of it. The Lotus Eaters looks good too.

I know what you mean about reading e-books. I just read the new Jodi Picoult in e-book form on my computer. It does take time to get through them!
