RIP Challenge

It's that time of the year again! Carl is hosting the  R.I.P VI Challenge from 1 September - 31 October. So even though it is springtime down in this part of the world it's still a time to enjoy books that that can be classified as...
Mystery.
Suspense.
Thriller.
Dark Fantasy.
Gothic.
Horror.
Supernatural.

There are several different levels to participate in and I've chosen

Read four books, any length, that you feel fit (my very broad definitions) of R.I.P. literature. It could be Stephen King or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Ian Fleming or Edgar Allan Poe…or anyone in between.

Nothing like a spooky ghost short story !

This year for the first time Carl is holding three readalongs - I'd love to join in The Lantern one but it's still listed as 'on order' at the library so can't commit to that yet.

My book list of possible reads

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher: the Murder at Road Hill House by Kate Summerscale
Aleron by Kane
Black and Orange by Benjamin Kane Etheridge
Dracula by Bram Stoker
The Ghost Writer by John Harwood
Still Life by Joe Donnelly
The Man in the Picture by Susan Hill
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Carmilla by Sheridan Le Fanu
Virago Book of Ghost Stories

What I Read

1 The Suspicions of Mr Whicher by Kate Summerscale
2 Black & Orange by Benjamin Kane Ethridge
3 Still Life by Joe Donnelly
4 Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
5 The Ghost Writer by John Harwood
6 The Man in the Picture by Susan Hill
7 Aleron by Kane

I did read most of the Virago Short Stories but never got around to reviewing them.
