Reading in April

I did think I'd be lost behind a pile of library books at the beginning of this month but after one read, one DNF and one I've decided not to read at all I'm left with four...

Life After Life by Kate Atkinson
Bring Up The Bodies by Hilary Mantel
The Burial by Courtney Collins
Lost Voices by Christopher Koch

The last two are by Australian authors so that will be my contribution to Australian Literature Month.

Middlemarch by George Eliot continues with Book 4

Birdsong by Sebastian Faulks - I'll be joining Melissa @ Avid Reader's Musings in the readalong she is hosting as a Classics Club event.

Still time to join in if you're interested - just leave a comment at the above link.

And finally three more from my bookshelf...

The Story of a New Zealand River by Jane Mander
Westwood by Stella Gibbons
As Music and Splendour by Kate O'Brien

What do you plan to read this month?

  1. As Music and Splendour looks interesting! It seems like you have the whole month planned out. Hmm, I should probably try that and see if it helps me read any faster, lol.

    1. Still room for spontaneous choices . I'm looking forward to the Kate O'Brien.

  2. With the end of the TBR reading challenge, I feel like the proverbial kid in the candy store, especially now that I can take out library books again. I'm in the long library queue for Life After Life - I've never read Kate Atkinson before, but this book sounds so intriguing!

    1. I could never go three months without a library visit! I'm reading the KA now - different from her Jackson Brodie series but very good.
