And then along came......

So there I was sitting all smug and virtuous because I'd stuck to my challenge limit and my reading plan was looking good.......

JoAnn @ Lakeside Musing and Terri @ Tip of the Iceberg are hosting a year long group read of Clarissa by Samuel Richardson.

Clarissa is an epistolary novel composed of 537 letters dated from January 10th through to December 18th. The plan is to read the letters around their corresponding dates.

I don't know how I managed to miss the original post about this but I love the idea so will definitely be joining in. 1500 pages makes for an unwieldy tome so I've downloaded to my Kindle and ready to go!

And then last night came The Stephen King Project  which I'm seriously considering. I know I'm next in the holds queue at the library for 11/22/63 and I also bought Under the Dome at the book fair in 2010 .......it's still staring at me from the bookshelf.

At least they've given me something to post about because I'm enjoying a lazy New Year before the family descends on us - rainy days curled up on the couch with Mr Hardy.........I am loving Far From the Madding Crowd!

  1. Challenges and projects definitely seem to sneak in when you're least expecting it! :) I do hope you'll join The Stephen King Project; no pressure on when or how often to post, just read Stephen King and link up to your review! (Oh, yeah, and have a chance to win prizes...) I'm so excited for this new year!

Now, I'm off to check out this year-long readalong...!

  2. How exciting and I hope you will join our challenge. The good thing is that you only need to read one book. In any case I hope you will enjoy all of your reading in 2012. Happy New Year!

  4. Cat - I have never read a Stephen King novel (too much horror) but I'm enjoying 11/22/63! I'm a fan of time travel novels and of course, the premise is fascinating!
