Review: Cursed by Carol Higgins Clark

Challenge 11 - All in the Family

Challenge Description: The writing gene often runs in the family. For this challenge, you need to find two authors from the same family (either by blood or by marriage) and read a book by each of the authors and then write about both books

I've chosen the mother/daughter authors Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark.

Cursed by Carol Higgins Clark

Abigail believes her life has been cursed since the day she was born......

Three months ago she loaned her then boyfriend $100,000 following which he promptly disappeared. Now her grandmother, who gave her the money to use as a down payment on a house, is coming to town to help purchase it. Abigail is desperate - she has to get the money back!

So she calls her friend, Regan Reilly for help. Regan has recently moved to New York and is glad to leave the winter cold for the warmer temperatures of Los Angeles. She's also a private investigator who in no time not only sorts out the boyfriend but hunts down the murderer of one of Abigails hairdressing clients.

This is the 12th in the Regan Reilly mystery series so I guess they must be popular but I haven't read any of them and to be honest I doubt I will. Cursed is fast ( 242p),  light and easy reading with a nice touch of humour to lighten the suspense but it doesn't offer anything new or original . Not a memorable read!
