A meme to encourage bloggers to share all the wonderful loot they bring home from the library. The first time for a couple of weeks that I've visited the library other than a quick dash to pick up a book on hold. Then I left my trusty green notebook at home and had a major senior blank moment and couldn't remember what I had noted down to look for. So it was a good opportunity to select a few I could remember from my "I'll get round to reading this soon" list. The first three books here are from that list.
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini
The 9th Judgement by James Patterson/Maxine Paetro
My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares
The Book of the Alchemist by Adam Williams
Have you read any of these books? What did you think of them?
Hope you have some great loot this week!
Good loot! I loved The Name of the Wind, A Thousand Splendid Sons and The Alchemist
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to read Cutting For Stone, so looking forward to your thoughts on that.
ReplyDeleteI really didn't get on with The Kite Runner, so figured Hosseini's not for me!
Enjoy the loot - looks fantastic!
I hope you like the wind better than I did :)
ReplyDeleteStill haven't read A Thousand Splendid Suns. Hope you enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI've not read A Thousand Splendid Suns but The Kite Runner sits atop my list of all time favorites. I look forward to hearing what you think about A Thousand Splendid Suns.
ReplyDeleteReading Cutting for Stone now; it's delicious!
ReplyDeleteWow some great titles. I've heard The Name of the Wind is good! Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteBlodeuedd & Marg - different opinions so we'll have to see which way the wind blows,
ReplyDeleteHaven't read The Kite Runner either so looking to trying this author.
Lynne - that sounds promising. Have had this book on my list for ages.
These all look good but I especially want to read Cutting For Stone. Can't wait for your review of that one...enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYou've got some good reads there. I loved A Thousand Splendid Suns as much as The Kite Runner. And I was forced to return Cutting for Stone when it became due and get into the queue again but I was really enjoying it. I don't think you can miss with those two. I look forward to your thoughts on these books. My LL post is up-I've had some wonderful library reads lately. Enjoy your loot.
ReplyDeleteI loved A Thousand Splendid Suns, even more than The Kite Runner! Cutting for Stone has been on my to read list for quite a while... really need to make some time for that one.
