List the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books you plan to read this week.
What a weekend it has been with the whole country affected by major storms. Raging winds and lashing rain rain has created havoc, loss of power , fallen trees and landslides everywhere .......stay home, stay safe has been the warning so great for the reading but not so good for blogging with internet failures. So much for Spring!!!
The past two weeks I've read:
Time's Legacy by Barbara Erskine
Nanny Returns by Nicola Kraus & Emma McLaughlin
The Treasure of Montsegur by Sophy Burnham
The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton
We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson
Arcadia Falls by Carol Goodman
Posted Reviews for:
The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins
Remarkable Creatures by Tracy Chevalier
Eternal on the Water by Joseph Monniger
The Bones of Avalon by Phil Rickman
Currently I'm reading:
The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbary
The Historian - this week is the start of the readalong at On the Ledge Readalongs
Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa - another readalong starting today and hosted by Jenners but my copy of the book hasn't arrived yet so a slight delay.
After that is uncertain. This week we have our 3-year-old grandson coming to stay with us for two weeks while his Mum and siblings are away in Australia. His Dad will also be here in the evenings but having a lively little boy here during the day is probably going to mean less time for reading and even less for blogging so we'll see how it goes. The next two I have lined up are:
Tiger Hills by Sarita Mandanna
The Grave Tattoo by Val McDermid
Have a great reading week!
You've read some great books! I've been really curious about the Elegance of the Hedgehog, so I'll look forward to your review for that.
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, Cat! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I'd not heard of your blog before so I'm looking forward to getting to know you.
ReplyDeleteI read Elegance of the Hedgehog back in December. It was good, but difficult. I hope you enjoy it!
I need to read Elegance of the Hedgehog as well -- I knew I should have picked this one up in the store! And I can't wait for the first chat for The Historian Readalong -- thanks so much for joining!!
ReplyDeleteOh, you're reading some great stuff -- some things I've read or want to read!
ReplyDeleteI just finished The Historian. I hope you enjoy it. The Elegance of the Hedgehog is great too.
ReplyDeleteI started The Historian more than a year ago. I set it aside. One of these days I should finish it.
ReplyDeleteYou can see I'm in the middle of my research. Here's what I'm reading this week.
Hi all - thanks for dropping by.
ReplyDeleteAmanda - yes, Hedgehog is a little difficult but I'm enjoying it.
pussreboots - I started The Historian once before but was too busy to give it the attention it deserved.
The Grave Tattoo sounds so good!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading this week. You've got some great books going. But a 3yo grandson is not really handy if you want to get some reading done! Ok, you're right, who wants to get any reading done if they can look after their lovely grandson? Right you are.
ReplyDeleteMy post is here
Times Legacy and The Historian are both on my tbr pile, looking forward to your thoughts on them. Have a great week and enjoy the time with your grandson :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm curious as to what you think of Nanny Returns. I liked the first book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
I am undergoing a reading slump. You did well. Have another great reading week ahead!
ReplyDeleteHere is my Mondays: Mailbox/Where Am I/Musings post.
Yikes, stay safe with all that crazy weather! Although, I can imagine that The Historian is perfect for stormy days.
ReplyDeleteI am really impressed with the great reading you are tackling!!! Wow!!

Sheila - I do enjoy Val McDermid so should be good.
ReplyDeleteJudith - lots of picture books this week.
Teddyree - didn't think Time's Legacy was as good as some of her others.
Laurel-Rain - not really a chicklit reader and I read this for a tour but found I enjoyed it immensely.
Gautami - hope your slump passes quickly.
alita - all adds to the atmosphere.
Lori - I hope I'll manage to keep up and actually finish - then I'll be impressed too.
My mother-in-law has been dying to get me to read The Historian, so I really hope you enjoy it. She loved it!
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous reading week and if you get a second stop by There’s A Book to take a look at what I’ve got planned for the week! :)
Oh I love The Historian! I hope you are enjoying it! :)
ReplyDeleteI also didn't know about the Musashi read-a-long. I have a copy sitting on my shelf! I should have joined! Sad!
You have some great books on your list.
1st daughter/Carin - I am enjoying The Historian very much.
ReplyDeleteCarin - still time to join us on the Musashi readalong.
