Last week began with three almost finished books and completing them was my first priority. I've never been one for reading more than one book at a time but it seems to be happening more and more. I finished...
The Moorland Cottage by Elizabeth Gaskell
The Coffins of Little Hope by Timothy Schaffert
After the Fire, a Still Small Voice by Evie Wyld
and then I read:
Shark Music by Carol O'Connell
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak ( yes, I've finally read it!!)
The Doctor & the Diva by Adrienne McDonnell
The Devlin Diary by Christi Phillips
Other Reviews added
My Last Duchess by Daisy Graham
Daniel by Henning Mankell
Currently I'm reading:
The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ by Philip Pullman..............making very slow progress with this one which is not really my cup of tea......and these next two both of which I've barely begun and should see me through much of this coming week.
The Memory of Love by Aminatta Forna.............it's made the Commonwealth Writers' Prize regional shortlist so I'm hoping it will be good.
The Twisted Thread by Charlotte Bacon............ebook from NetGalley.
Coming up next
The Golden Mean by Annabel Lyon
Someone Else's Son by Sam Hayes
Have a great reading week!
That is a ton of books, interesting reads, enjoy them.

You had an awesome week! That sure is a good list!
ReplyDeleteI've had The Devlin Diary on my shelf for awhile, did you read The Rossetti Letter? I really liked that one, and I'm looking forward to The Devlin Diary too :)
ReplyDeleteWOO HOO on your success with the Book Thief! AND wow does the Memory Of Love look good!
ReplyDeleteMarce/Aths - thanks, it was another good week.
ReplyDeleteCrystal - I did like The Rossetti Letter and I liked The Devlin Diary just as much. I'm sort of wishing that CP would write a completely historical novel because those parts of her books are so much stronger.
Sheila - Memory of Love does look good but 40 pages in I'm struggling......not looking so good!
Oh Cat - that is a bummer - I hate it when that happens!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week, and those look like some good books you have coming up, I want to read a couple of them.
ReplyDeleteHere's My Monday
So do I, Sheila :-(
ReplyDeleteShan - just make sure Memory of Love is not one of them. ;-)
I just read The Book Thief last week too. I hope you enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to reading The Coffins of Little Hope. Have a fabulous week. My Monday: http://www.rundpinne.com/2011/02/its-monday-what-are-you-reading-26.html
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting variety of books. I want to read The Book Thief...someday. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI have The Book Thief on my TBR. I mostly read picture books. But I did finish the Hunger Games. Come see what I'm reading now.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really interesting selection! I think I am in the minority enjoying My Last Duchess! I will check out your other selections later.
ReplyDeleteYou read some great books this week. I have been interested in the Devlin Diaries for while, and the books you have listed for this week also sound awesome. enjoy
ReplyDeleteNice selection of books. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteNice selection of books...I haven't read any of them, so I'll be watching for reviews.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog.
Oohh The Book Thief! I'm looking forward to getting to that one some time soon. This week though, I'm in the middle of The Passage. So far it's okay . . . I've heard mixed reviews . . . we'll see how I feel about it at the end.
ReplyDeleteThe Book Thief is one I recommend over and over. What did you think of The Doctor and The Diva? It is sitting on my stacks.
ReplyDeleteMy Reading Week
Great books...I read The Doctor and the Diva and found it quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteMy It's Monday post can be found here.
alita - I loved The Book Thief and it really is a special book.
ReplyDeleteTrish/pussreboots/Martha - I hope you'll read it soon and love it too.
Jennifer - I thought The Coffins was delightful.
Kim - I often find myself in the minority - I probably expected too much from it.
Jan - The Devlin Diary was good HF.
Majanka/Laurel-Rain - hope the reading is as good as it looks.
Nise/Kristin - I really enjoyed The Doctor and the Diva and it has so many interesting themes
I hope you enjoyed The Book Thief, I loved it! :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fab week! My It's Monday is here and don't forget to join in Read My Review, which this week has a Love/Romance theme for Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen "Someone Else's Son" by Sam Hayes before, but it's going on my wish list NOW! I googled it and it looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteOk, NOW I'm the last one to read The Book Thief! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThat Phillip Pullman book looks interesting...
That is quite the selection! I too used to read only one book at at time but since I began blogging, I've upped that. Still, I find it difficult to read more than two at once. I always give one book more attention than another, especially if the book was provided for review. It's taken me weeks to read The Help because I've been reviewing others. I can't complain though. I love reading!!!
ReplyDeleteHere's my It's Monday post.
