Where we list the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books we plan to read this week.
In the last two weeks my focus has been on the two readalongs I'm participating in ( when I'm not running around chasing a lively three-year-old grandson who we're babysitting at present - one more week to go).
The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova
Musashi by Eiji Yoshiskawa
I'm enjoying both these books but they are too weighty for bed so have also managed a few lighter reads.
The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery
The Scarlet Contessa by Jeanne Kalogrides
The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland
The Grave Tattoo by Val McDermid
Reviews posted:
Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger
Time's Legacy by Barbara Erskine
The Treasure of Montsegur by Sophy Burnham
Currently I'm reading
Tiger Hills by Sarita Mandanna
I'm struggling with this one as it doesn't seem to be capturing my attention at all.
I think part of the problem is I'm not used to reading more than one book at a time and I probably need something lighter than this.
After that I don't know - I usually end up changing my mind - and nothing is really calling strongly. These two ......
Ghost Light by Joseph O'Connor
Affinity by Sarah Waters
What are you reading this week?
You had a great week & I like the titles of the books you've read & I hope you enjoyed them :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always changing my mind what to read next, too :) Have a great week & happy reading!
So glad you are enjoying The Historian!! Yes, definitely a heavy book, but ahh... I love it! :) Can you tell?
ReplyDeleteI so want to read The Elegance of the Hedgehog -- I've heard so much about it!
Here's my Monday: Coffee and a Book Chick -- Mailbox Monday...
The Owl Killers has been on my wishlist for a while. I hope to get to it one day.

Affinity is my favorite Sarah Waters book. Mostly I read picture books. Here's what I'm reading this week.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to read The Scarlet Contessa but was hesitant on reading a book that will probably have a sad ending when I have so many other books to read. What were your thoughts? Have a great week :)
ReplyDeleteNatalie/Marce - Elegance is something different and very good.
ReplyDeletepussreboots - I'm not sure about it yet. Will be hard to beat Litttle Stranger.
Svea - I hope to have a review up this week but it doesn't have a sad ending!
All your title sound intriguing. Hope you enjoy them have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYou had a really good week. The Historian has made it to my ipod but I still haven't made a start on it ... soon! Have a great week and happy reading :-)
ReplyDeleteI loved HFS - the cover still gives me chills. Happy reading! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Elegance of the Hedgehog is one that captured my interest awhile back. Hope you enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteI like the covers on all the books.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
You read a couple books I have been curious about. i will have to check out your reviews. Ghost Light looks really good!
ReplyDeleteI loved The Elegance of the Hedgehog. So many delicious ideas, themes, language in that book. I will probably read it again in the future, because I loved the ideas and quirky characters so much.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to see you haven't read dozens of books - some of the other blogs I've visited this week seem to have read 10 or 12 books per week, and made me (with my paltry 1 book read last week) feel like a slacker!
Jan - thanks - I hope they as good as they look.
ReplyDeleteTeddyree - I'm really enjoying The Historian and hope you will too.
Sheila - I enjoyed another of his earlier this year so hope Ghost Light will be as good.
Amanda - I'd find it hard to read that many and know I've given each one the attention it deserves.
I'm impressed that you have found anytime to read at all with a lively 3 year old around!
