I came home with quite a haul today after once again returning several I'd begun but didn't like enough to persevere with. The library had a display of crime/suspense books which is a genre I consider comfort reading and what I turn to when nothing else is working so I put aside any thoughts of challenges and themes and what I 'should' be reading and loaded up.
Dark Side by Belinda Bauer..............murder in a quiet English village by the author of Blacklands which I really liked so expecting good things from this one.
You're Next by Greg Hurwitz.........Every family has its secrets. His might get them killed. Gripping from its first lines to its extraordinary twist ending - let's hope so!
The Echo Man by Richard Montanari.............a new case for homicide detectives Kevin Byrne and Jessica Balzano and another serial killer on the loose. I've read others in this series and although they can be a little over the top they make good suspense/thriller reading.
Sanctus by Simon Toyne..........an apocalyptic conspiracy thriller! I read a positive review of this book a while back and had added it to my TBR list .
The Three Evangelists by Fred Vargas..........I've never read any of this authors but trying her for Paris in July.
And finally, for when I get tired of murder and mayhem, these two...
What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty
Daughters-in-Law by Joanna Trollope
