Happy New Year!

Wishing you all a bright and prosperous 2011 and many a great book along the way.

*********

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday season. The weather was not at all kind to us and rain and cold winds made it feel more like winter than our usual warm summer conditions but despite that we had a lovely festive family time. With one son and his family for Christmas and then another son and his family the last few days it's been hectic but lots of fun. I'm now looking forward to a few days peace before our daughter and her three sons come to stay. January is summer holiday time and the children don't go back to school until February so lots of visiting and socialising ahead this month.

Books Read in December = 14

A Christmas Visitor by Anne Perry ( for Royal Reviews)
Limestone by Fiona Farrell
The Tsarina's Daughter by Carolly Erickson
The Assassin's Prayer by Ariana Franklin
Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver
Sacred Treason by James Forrester
Think of a Number by John Verdon
The Lace Reader by Brunonia Barry
Black Mamba Boy by Nadifa Mohamed
The Tricking of Freya by Christina Sunley

Total Books Read in 2010 = 170

I'm really looking forward to my second year of book blogging with one firm resolution - to leave myself the freedom to go where the spirit of the moment takes me . Holding this thought has made the daily temptation of new challenges easier to resist and I've signed up for very few compared to last year . I do enjoy them but I didn't like the way having too many controlled and directed my reading and reviewing . It was a wonderfully liberating feeling last week to choose library books from my TBR that I've been wanting to read for months.

Welcome, 2011!

  2. Happy New Year! I wish it was summer here in Ohio. At least we had a warmer day today which allowed the much of the snow and ice to melt!

I signed up for a lot of reading challenges last year too but the ones I finished were the ones involving books I would have read anyway :)
