It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

A weekly event hosted by Sheila at One Persons Journey

List the books completed last week, the books currently being read and the books you plan to read this week.

Last week I reviewed:

Ever by Gail Carson Levine
The Lake of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman
Roses by Leila Meacham

I Read:

Ever by Gail Carson levine
The Shadow of Your Smile by Mary Higgins Clark
Avalon by Anya Seton

Currently I'm Reading:

Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell - this is for a readalong and I'm reading a chapter a day.
New York by Edward Rutherfurd - one of my favourite authors and despite my doubts that I may not be so interested in American history I'm really enjoying it. It's huge (1007p) so I'm taking breaks between sections to read something lighter.

I Plan to Read:

Daughters of the House by Michele Roberts
A Note from an Old Aquaintance by Bill Walker

Have a great reading week!

  2. New York looks interesting but holy cow - 1000+ pages. I would feel like a super star for finishing that one. I hope it is good! :)

Daughters Of The House looks really good too!

  4. I'm also reading Cranford for the read-a-long and like you I'm reading a chapter a day. Its a nice distraction reading like this I think.

  7. I am happy to see that you are enjoying New York. I put it on hold at the library last week, but I didn't realize that it was 1000 pages. I love NY history, so i hope i can get through it. I just picked up the audio of Cranford from there also.

Your upcoming reads look great too. I have A Note from an Old Aquaintance on my wish list already and the other one looks real interesting. Have a great reading week.

  9. Lydia - I'm glad, too. I begin to think there's something with me if I'm the only one who doesn't like a book!

    Sheila - it's very good!

Jennifer - I'm enjoying Cranford immensely.

Zia - looking forward to A Note from...

Jessica - I agree. It's nice to take it slowly for a change.

jacubar - hi = yes, a long time MHC fan.

Stephanie - Avalon is great historical fiction. Check out Historical Tapestry for lots of Anya Seton this month.

Kathy - I think you will love NY as you said you're familiar with the city which I'm not but loving the history.

  10. It's too bad you didn't enjoy Wicked Lovely more, but I completely understand. I've actually heard a few people say they weren't huge fans and I honestly think it may be a bit to "young", maybe. Well, here's to hoping your books this week are fabulous!

Have a fantastic reading week and if you get a chance, stop by: Monday Reading's at There's A Book

  15. 1007 pages? That must be quite a weighty book! I guess it saves going to the gym! :D
